In early May, her and I flew to San Francisco. Just us. We did everything and nothing and it was amazing, so it’s time I shared a few photos from our time there (thanks to the too kind and amazingly talented Chris Connolly and his willingness to lend me a camera).
The mornings are cold now. It’s My favorite time to walk. The world is quiet, the air is clean and fresh, things are in their own order.
Yesterday morning I stepped onto the deck into wind, temperatures in the high 30s, and a mist that swept across the river. The morning was silent and this man fished without taking notice of the cold. “I’ve caught nothing,” he told me, shrugging, as I watched him, “but it’s okay.” He reeled in a line to freshly bait the hook, mumbled something to himself, and sent it out again, hoping. The bell on a nearby pole jingling faintly in the wind.
