What happened?
Yeah, I was asking Myself that same question. Where did all My posts go? My snazzy look? Well, that’s neither here nor there at this point (we’ll say technical difficulties). Now what we need to look at is where do we go from here. Well, I’ll tell you where. Somewhere new. Somewhere different. Somewhere that is still filets to fishsticks dot com, but with a whole new edge . . . so be ready . . . not yet . . . but very soon (and yes, the missing content from March 18th to present will be returning).
Sneaky softener and other home goods
She has this thing for smells. Not just any smells, not smelling in general, but pleasant smells from products that most people don’t think twice about. Household products. Cleaners. Things like hand soap, dish soap, laundry soap, fabric softener, and counter spray. Regular scents, season specials, new product lines, limited releases. She’s all about it. If it weren’t for My urging, I think She would lose Herself in the laundry aisle wandering from one cap to the next. “No!” She’ll gasp, rushing from 10 feet away to a bottle on the shelf, “Downey has a new scent!” And it always [...]
With spring, comes rain
With rain, comes thunder. With thunder comes equally loud bursts of profanity and a passionate hatred for the misinformation onweather.com. I’m not going to lay into meteorologists. There’s no point. But We have a child. Don’t they get that? Doesn’t that entitle Us to more accurate reporting? A bottle of child sedatives? Rum? When We tell Him that thunder, the maestro behind a crumbling, catastrophic end of all things and the orchestrator of His demise, will not come until after He is asleep, when MAYBE, just maybe He’ll sleep through it (a thought known as empty hope), that’s when it [...]
Our relaxing Easter morning
I don’t know how or why, but He woke up at 4:30 this morning. 4:30AM! Really!? He just came strolling into Our room like it was 6:00 or 6:30 and questioned whether or not it was Easter time. All casual and composed. NO! It’s 4:30 time, dark time, sleep time. It’s You didn’t even wake up this early for Christmas, time! What I thought I would be writing about are the birds outside, the pastel eggs, the mimosas We enjoyed with classical music in the background, but I can’t recal any of that. The birds weren’t even awake at 4:30. [...]
Justifying J. Crew
We bought Him a pair of J. Crew shorts. Crew Cuts to be exact. They were $25. A pair of shorts that will be worn from May through September with no chance of being used next season. Twenty-five dollars. Three years ago I struggled with Gap Kids and now We’re shopping at J. Crew. It’s not that bad. I guess. He lives every moment of His summer life in shorts, bedtime included. If you take $25 and divide that by the number of days in an average summer, cost per wear is a matter of cents. Even if summer is [...]
Out of hot water
Literally. We were out of hot water from Friday evening through today. A burst in our water heater wasn’t exactly what We had planned for the evening, but it was what is was and We quickly realized just how much We use hot water as We found ourselves up a cold creek in a boat full of dirty dishes, three loads of laundry, and a 5 year old who was fascinated by the whole situation. Meanwhile, all We could think about was showering even though it hadn’t even been 24 hrs since our last. So, to play a bit with [...]
